Based in San Francisco, ZOFO Duet is the dynamic partnership of internationally acclaimed pianists, Keisuke Nakagoshi (from Japan) and Eva-Maria Zimmermann (from Switzerland).
Since joining forces as a professional touring ensemble in October, 2009, Zofo has made some remarkable achievements – 1st place of the 2010 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition and finalists at the 2011 Osaka International Chamber Music Competition – the only piano duo to be elevated to the final round. ZOFO also made its Carnegie Hall concert debut in May 2010. ZOFO believes that the piano duet is the most intimate form of chamber music with two performers playing synchronized interwoven lines on one instrument. The duo is deeply committed to enriching the one-piano-four-hands repertoire by commissioning new works each year. Eva and Keisuke recently commissioned a new piano duet from American composer William Bolcom, which will have its world premiere in 2014-15. The ZOFO Duet was nominated for a Grammy award for its first CD, "Mind Meld." http://www.zofoduet.com/
